The Right Time Will Never Come

If I had invested five dollars for every time I’ve heard a woman say, “I’m waiting for the right time” or “I need to lose weight first,” I’d never have to work again. These refrains have become the background music to my years as a boudoir photographer, a constant reminder of the hesitation that holds so many beautiful women back. Why do we wait? Why do we put off experiences that could bring us joy and empowerment? One thing I’ve come to realize is that while we don’t always need instant gratification, when it comes to have a photo session that would change the way you see yourself, waiting is over-rated plain and simple.

The truth is, the “right time” will never come. Life is a series of moments, each fleeting and precious. Waiting for perfect alignment of circumstances means missing out on the beauty of the present; the beauty of WHO YOU ARE at this time of your life. And as for needing to lose weight first, it’s a fallacy built on society’s narrow standards of beauty. Every body is worthy of celebration, regardless of shape or size.

Nothing but fear lurks behind these excuses. Fear of judgment, of not measuring up, of being vulnerable. But it’s only by confronting these fears head-on that we can truly step into our power. This is a boudoir experience is for women to begin recognizing they are worthy of love and acceptance exactly as we are.
