As a boudoir photographer, my clients’ privacy is of the utmost importance. This means taking steps to ensure their personal information and images are kept confidential and secure if they choose not to allow sharing.
Here are a few steps I take to ensure my clients’ images are protected:
Explicit Consent: Before your session begins, I make sure I have my client’s explicit consent to take and share their images. This will be done through a signed model release form or other written agreement such as our client questionnaire. I then ask to confirm their choice on the day of their session. Whatever my clients decide, that’s what we’ll go with.
Discretion: If I plan to share any of my clients’ images on my website or social media, I use the utmost discretion ensuring that the images are tasteful. And for those who choose to share only anonymous images, I protect their privacy by removing any distinguishing marks. This may also mean blurring out their face or other identifying features.
I protect their personal information: keep my clients’ personal information, such as their contact information and payment details, private and secure. This includes taking appropriate precautions to against data breaches and unauthorized access to their galleries.
I’m mindful of their comfort level: The boudoir photography experience can be a vulnerable one for many people. I’m always mindful of my clients’ comfort level and take steps to make them feel safe and respected during the session. If they don’t want to be pushed to far, I won’t continue to ask them to go where they aren’t comfortable and for those who want to push the envelope a little, I always ask for specifics so we only capture exactly what they want.
By following these guidelines, I ensure that I am respecting my clients’ privacy and helping them feel comfortable and confident during their boudoir photography session with resulting images they can be proud off for years to come.
