When I saw Nicolle for the very first time, the first thing I noticed was her eyes, her fly nails and bold haircut. There lies a special place in my heart for women who shave their heads. Possibly because I am one–but even as child I was fascinated by the first two women I’d ever seen with shaved heads: Meshell Ndegeocello & Sinead O’Connor.
Society equates so much of a woman’s beauty with her hair and size. But their beauty was in their faces, in the light of their eyes, in their souls and confident attitudes. That’s the same way I saw Nicolle when she walked through that studio door.
Nicolle came in and slayed her session and when she said she’d like a Lizzo Inspired pose at the end, I was ecstatic! I am moved by the women that come in for the sessions – I was moved by Nicolle. We both loved the way her images turned out and I was inspired by her as an artist. She took on this session with a bold and undeniable confidence determined to celebrate herself. And that’s exactly what I want for all my clients.

Wow! I’m blown away by how great the photos turned out. You captured what I was trying to achieve – the celebration and appreciation of my body as it is. I hope other women, especially plus size women, feel inclined to celebrate their bodies as well.
