With each session, I’m reminded why I do this. I learn something new about myself and about other women and our struggles with self-image. Instead of looking at society for a “standard”, I encourage each of my clients to look to themselves. Be a your own muse, look at these photos after your session, remind yourself. You are sexy, you are bad ass. You are THE STANDARD.
It’s ok to remember that you are a wife and mom but also you are a beautiful and powerful being no matter what shape or size you happen to be. Your size does not define who you are and it surely doesn’t restrict you from having a session of your own. And that’s what Valerie took away from this session: She IS beautiful and amazing just as she is RIGHT NOW.

How old are you… or if you prefer, what music were you listening to at age 16 :)? I’m 35 years old
What do you do for a living? Or… How do you typically spend your days? I’m a nurse practitioner from 9-5 but my biggest jobs are being a wife, mother, daughter & sister 🙂
What prompted you to consider booking a boudoir session? My sister had done a session & she said it helped her feel great & it was fun, so I started doing some research & loved the idea of doing something that might help boost my confidence & was totally outside of my comfort zone.
Fears and hesitations are common when it comes to boudoir! What (if any) fears or hesitations did you have with regards to your session? I’m full figured & very insecure about certain parts of my body like my arms & mid-section. Most boudoir suggested outfits are skimpy & sleeveless plus it seems that baby dolls were the go-to choice for plus size lingerie, which I totally dislike. So I was hesitant that my photos would just make my insecurities more noticeable & wouldn’t be sexy at all.
What was it about us that made you choose us for your boudoir session? I loved seeing the portfolio of different body types, skin tones & ages, with many of the photos being of curvier women. That helped me to feel like Veronica would know how to photograph me in different ways that would be flattering and appealing. Also, my daily makeup routine includes a couple coats of mascara & that’s it. So having a makeup artist that would make me look glam as part of my session was a HUGE bonus.
How was the actual session different from what you expected (if at all)? The session was so fun & relaxing. I was a little stiff & insecure starting out, especially with nothing but a bra/panty set & high heels on when I’m typically a tshirt/leggings with ballet flats kind of girl, but Renata had done my makeup so beautifully, I couldn’t help but keep glancing in the mirror every chance I could & Veronica was so encouraging & fun, I relaxed in no time.
What was your favorite part of the entire experience? (primping, the shoot, seeing images, giving the images..etc) The WHOLE thing, hehe. I loved having my makeup done & seeing myself in a way that I had never seen myself before. I felt a little silly trying to do some of the poses but seeing how they turned out in the end was amazing.
How has the response been to your images? Shock & awe. Me doing a boudoir session was totally unexpected & my images highlighted that sexy/sultry side that rarely makes an appearance.
What has changed about the way you see your own beauty? Even though I’m full-figured, I can still look & feel sexy & it doesn’t have to be in babydoll lingerie. I don’t get to look “photo session glam” on a daily basis but having this boudoir session & seeing my photos are good reminders of what lies beneath this wife/mom.
What is your advice for women interested in such a session (aside from “JUST DO IT!!!”)? It can be a little intimidating & overwhelming seeing different portfolios of boudoir sessions & thinking that you would never look like that or that. Your body isn’t meant to be photographed in that type of setting but Veronica is a professional and you will walk away with nothing but a new found level of sexy & amazing photos capturing that essence. You won’t regret it.
